Corinne a native of Philadelphia, PA moved to Maryland, with her daughter, to be closer to family. Always thinking that she would be in the fashion industry as a buyer, stylist assistant or something fashionable never saw herself being in the financial aid field as a counselor.  She always saw life as colorful but one day she began to see the world as grey and dreary. Knowing this was not a common attitude and after a breakdown at work she decided to go to the doctors where she was diagnosed with a mental illness. Corinne was given medication for anxiety.  Knowing she did not want to be on this medication for the rest of her life she decided to take matters in her own hands.  She began to change her diet to pescatarian and upped her vegetable intake, cut out refined sugars, bleached flour and incorporated exercise.  She started doing research and incorporating ancient grains like spelt, kamut, millet and many more.  Then she would order teas to cleanse the body and get her off juices and soda.  The world, in Corinne’s eyes, started to change from the dreadful grey to the rainbow of color again.  Making that change decrease her medication and having a positive attitude.  This new journey led her to making her own blends of teas using nature's medicine and starting Shop Herbs and Spices.
